Just the Tonic

Twice a week, these consistently excellent comedy nights brighten up The Approach, an otherwise distinctly average pub. Just The Tonic attracts the well-known such as Noel Fielding, Richard Herring and Johnny Vegas, the known, like Lucy Porter and Paul Tonkinson, and the unknown – who appear on a Monday night to vie for a spot at the Edinburgh Festival. Itchy never knows quite what we'll get here: we've bust a gut laughing some nights and ignored the comedians to chat over nachos on others. Either way, it beats braving the torpor of Sunday night telly.
