Alton Towers
We all know it's Britain's only decent attempt at a theme park, but Itchy feels it's still worth pointing out that sitting in a cart (sometimes with a stranger), being flung at 80mph around a thin track with a semi-loose harness, is actually quite fun. Half the enjoyment is watching the middle-to-old-aged dads eye the rides up and judge/gamble whether or not they'll live to see their children again; exhilarating don't you think? Coronaries aside, you can't go wrong once you're in. Caters for the kids, the big egos and the faint-hearted all together. Also, it's open 'til the end of October, so you can ride the whirlwind while the kids are stuck in school.
