The Peacock

'Our Peacock, who art in Lenton, hallowed be thy name'. In a city increasingly populated by smug trendy watering holes, The Peacock is a beacon of hope and wisdom. Its status as an almost exclusively student pub means an extensive range of inventively flavoured shots and the compulsory presence of sports screens. Drinking with gay abandon and disgracing oneself is actively encouraged, and to recover they serve hearty and reasonably priced food. The thoughtless positioning of steps that follows the negotiation of the exit is perhaps the only cause for concern, forcing even the sure-footed into moves worthy of Suzanne Dando.
