Peacock Hotel
The Mansfield Road area is home to a number of good pubs for beer, atmosphere and food and, puffing out its chest and splaying its feathers for all and sundry to see, The Peacock Hotel is one of the best and deserves to attract a comely peahen. Because it's small it's got a homely feel and the food portions are certainly homely in size too. The menu has all the now-usual hummus and olive-type snacks, but you won't need a microscope to find them on the plate. Staff are pleasant and quick to serve despite the number of folk who pack into the pub at weekends.
