A two minute walk from the Basford tram stop, real ale drinkers are advised to get a season ticket and take a strong carrier bag along for the booty you'll inevitably buy from the pub's adjacent brewery, Alcazar. They have a minimum of eight cask ales and their own-brewed continental style lagers. Another waistline hazard is the on-site Thai restaurant. Be warned, unlike the brewmasters who don't mind how you quaff the ales, the Thai chef may run at you with a wok if you dare to pour your curry over your rice.
