Newcastle Arms
It'll never be able to compete with the Orange Tree down the road for trendiness, but the Newcastle Arms is a really decent pub and the reason we love it is the fact that it has rooms to let. This makes it very handy for visiting mates who need a cheap place to stay in the city centre, but also if you're out on a heavy night and you can't bothered with the walk home. In fact, given that they do pretty good grub as well, and put on entertainment from DJs every now and then, we don't see any good reason why we should ever leave.
