The Three Wheatsheavers
The Three Wheatsheaves underwent a total refurb last year, transforming it from a garish uncomfortable pub where you had to compete with the karaoke machine for a place to sit, into a decent enough sort of drinking hole. The food's not gourmet but there's always something on the bar menu until 9pm. Any later than that, and you can browse the Domino's Pizza website using their free wifi. The beer garden is big enough to hide in and they power up the heaters if there are enough idiots bracing the cold in winter.

20 May 2009The Three Wheatsheaves USED to be a nice place to have a quiet drink and relax with friends. The new landlord has totally changed this. While sitting and having a drink with some friends (some of whom had no drink in front of them) he rudely told us that he had 'heating and lighting' to pay for and that those not drinking were wasting his money. After a short period of time (during which snacks were purchased) the lights and heating in our area were turned off and he shouted at us "heating and lighting are off squatters, time to go squatters" several times. Please avoid this rude and insulting pub!
