Golf can be an infuriatingly difficult game, and hacking your way round an 18-hole course in the drizzling rain can get quite depressing. Even if you're dressed in the sharpest checked cap and pink polo shirt that BHS had in their sale section last Christmas. But getting a basket of balls and a couple of woods (steady on...) on a driving range is enormously therapeutic if you feel the need to unleash some of that smouldering inner rage. Just tee up a ball, tonk it with a big stick and make that sucker fly like ET.
