The Ropewalk

Sort of the bar equivalent of when that terrifying blonde in the Buddy Holly specs takes a fifty-year-old car wreck and makes her look good in a bikini through a shedload of aggressive plastic surgery. Renovated a while back, The Ropewalk has gone from being a rowdy 'It's a Scream' pub to a laid back, atmospheric oasis of cool. Slightly more expensive than before its facelift, but without taking the piss, and the extensive range of beers and wines on offer is enough to make your jaw drop. Check out Sundays for DJs playing chilled-out tunes and a roast din-dins to die for.
