Be warned: don't turn up here starving and hoping for sustenance during prime pub hours. When it gets busy, the staff tend to make like an emu thrown over the edge of a cliff, and flap uselessly 'til it all comes crashing down around them. Still, if you're after a sunny summer pint (or a foolhardy winter one), this smart bar's great location on the banks of the River Trent makes it especially good for proper outdoor drinking. There's also a seated restaurant area which never seems to be used; presumably punters are worried the waiters will spontaneously combust if they order anything more challenging than a G&T.
