The Palm Tree
For something a little different, Itchy recommends The Palm Tree Lebanese restaurant. The building used to be a caff, and though the owners have softened the atmosphere with arches and furnishings, it's not a place you'd really go for a 'tinkle of china and cut crystal' dinner. Instead, you could join the men whiling away the evening puffing on sheesha pipes packed with apple tobacco, and on Saturday nights you get the added treat of belly dancers. Diners are all invited to join in, so make sure you don't stuff yourself with too much rice before your first belly wobble.
