The Canalhouse

The most recent addition to the canal-side collective is an impressively styled bar distinguished by the canal inlet that runs through it. Bare bricks, wrought iron, and exposed timbers help maintain a feel of the building's origins as the canal museum. Excellent patio area outside, where you can chill in the summer or freeze in the winter. Attracts a mixed crowd as do many of the canal–side bars, with everyone from trendy youngsters, mature couples, smarter students, the after–work crowd, or people gearing up for a night in Ocean, calling in. With all the new development in the area, it is rapidly becoming an alternative to the city centre, rather than just a stopping off point.
