Listings
Beach Break Live
The line up for this year's festival has got us drooling: Ben Howard, Dizzee Rascal, Friendly Fires, Chase and Status, Wretch 32... need we go on? From June 14-18, Pembrey Park in South Wales won't know what's hit it. Not only do you get the bands, but there's plenty of other excitement planned, and failing that you can always hit the beach. We're proud to say that we went to the first ever Beach Break - who knew it was going to become so big? Oh, wait... we did. Tickets on sale now.
Liverpool Sound City
BBC Sound Of 2012 winner Michael Kiwanuka joins Professor Green, Mystery Jets, Willy Mason, White Denim and Death In Vegas for the annual Sound City spectacular at Liverpool Echo Arena. This 3 day international music, media and technology conference and live arts and music festival is intent on bringing the best new music, film, art and more from all over the world to Liverpool from May 17-19. Early bird tickets are available until midday on February 27, so get booking!
Flow Festival
If you want a cracker of a line up AND a little holiday, why not try Flow Festival, Helsinki. Not only have they secured Bjork and Bon Iver but Feist, The Black Keys, St. Vincent, Four Tet and Caribou (amongst others) will be playing at this years festival, taking place August 8 -12 in an old dissued power plant in Helsinki, Finland. Tickets are on sale now. It's enough to make Itchy consider packing our passport.
Henley Festival
Fancy something a little different this year? This black tie festival is a sophisticated, grown-up affair with a line up to match. Itchy wants to take our mum to see Sting, Katherine Jenkins and Alfie Boe (Alright, we also sort of want to see Sting ourselves... phwooooar!) With a range of restaurants, pop-up art boutiques and sculpture lawns along with stand-up comedy and cabaret, there's something for everyone at Henley. (Take your dad to laugh at Tim Minchin on the Friday and your little sister to swoon at Olly Murs on the Sunday.) From July 4-8 in Henley-on-Thames. Tickets on sale now.
Summer Sundae
Public Image Limited, tUnE0yArDs, Reverend and the Makers, Katy B and Asian Dub Foundation are just the first artists to be announced for the Leicester based festival. Taking place August 17-19, Summer Sundae Weekender has played host to some of the biggest names in music at the moment, from The Maccabees to Amy Winehouse, so Itchy is hoping to see some more big names announced in the coming months. Tickets are available now.
ANNOUNCEMENTS COMING SOON...
Kendal Calling
Winner of Live UK Best Small Festival for the past two years, Kendal Calling boasts 11 stages and 3 days of fun in the fields up in the Lake District from 27-29 July. Tickets go onsale at 9am on Thursday February 23, along with the first line up announcement. Past performers have included Mr Scruff, The Cribs and Young Knives and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever... bring it on!
Creamfields
Always a favourite for the ravers, Creamfields will announce their lineup on Friday March 2 at 7pm on Radio 1. Last year's line up featured the likes of Example, Swedish House Mafia, The Chemical Brothers, David Guetta, Magnetic Man, Katy B, Skrillex and Paul Oakenfold... so Itchy can't wait to hear what they've got in store for us this year. Creamfields returns to Daresbury in Cheshire on Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Sunday August 26 Bank Holiday weekend. Early bird tickets are on sale now.
Latitude
Itchy is excited to hear that Latitude will reveal the first of the extraordinary array of acts performing across all the stages at this year’s seventh edition on Monday March 5. Tickets will go on sale at 7.15pm. We've had a great time in Henham Park, Suffolk over the past few festivals, enjoying theatre, comedy and literature as well as some ridiculously good line ups, so we can't wait to hear what they've got up their sleeves for July 12-15 2012.
