Knuckledusters at the ready, people of Nottingham: 'Dodgy'
Dave Courtney is heading north from Camelot (his South London home) for an evening of old-school gangster chat in aid of the Anthony Booth trust, and his talk is likely to be thrilling, fascinating, and darkly dangerous in equal measure.
Calling Courtney a 'character' doesn't quite cut the mustard:
after living the hard-and-fast life of a criminal deeply involved in London's criminal underworld, during which time he was reputedly stabbed, shot, and had his nose bitten off, he reformed and began a career as an author, writing six books based on his experiences. This rare opportunity to see him speak in an intimate venue should prove to be a thoroughly memorable evening.
Courtney also makes a point of involving himself in charitable ventures, which is why Nottingham can expect his arrival at
The Jaguar, Stapleford on Saturday 25th September for a fundraising event on behalf of the Anthony Booth trust (raising money to fund research into aplastic anaemia).
Doors open at 7pm, with the evening proper beginning one hour later. Tickets are £10 and are available by email from
Richard MacRae or on 07740 344 427.
